! END OF ROCK...
We are sad and sorry to have to bring you the news that Rock will be closing after next week. The last EVER Rock will be next Friday 9th November.

It's been a fantastic four years which have spread the rock love far and wide. Thanks to all who supported the club over the years.

Was great to be able to celebrate the fourth Halloween Birthday - remember our first night was 31st October 2003 - so Halloween's always been a significant time for us. Check out the galleries of past nights and please send in any pics you'd like to share of good times at Rock.

And if you haven't already come join our new MySpace site at www.myspace.com/rocklondona2

Please come to our farewell party this Friday 9th November and pay your last respects to Rock.

Thank you and goodnight...

! IT'S THE FINAL COUNTDOWN......
Stix
4 years down the line its over, I have been there since day 1 doing my thing and so much has changed over that time, management, DJs, even me but one thing has stayed the same...the good times!!
It has been the most amazing experience of my life if I'm honest. I have made some amazing friends that I am so glad are now in my life, I have entertained so many people every week, made them smile and dance and sing along to the songs they love.

All I can say is thank you to everyone involved and to all of you that supported the club and loved what I did for you week in week out all these years.

Stix, The Mortican

! THE LAST WORD.........
Paul
To all the people that have ever been to Rock, be it once or every single week. Thank You.

DJing isnt my job, its just a hobby. I love music like you guys love music and I was fortunate enough to end up in a position where I can play the songs I love to a room of like minded people.

Ive been at Rock for 3 of the 4 years it's been going and met so many people because of it and I've become closer to people I already knew. I've had some great nights there and experienced some incredible things. I got to DJ with Chris Jericho and the rest of Fozzy.. I've been a wrestling fan for about forever and nearly started crying when I was told they were going to be down. I went from kinda knowing Stix to finding out he is not only a great great DJ but one of the coolest people I know. I just met and got to know a shit load of new and cool people.

Thing is though, it doesnt matter if I'm a great talent with a keen ear for music or I couldn't DJ my way out of a paper bag, the only way you get to do anything is if people come down and enjoy the night. The club lasted for 4 years, 4 great years because people chose to come down and spend their money there. You could have gone somewhere else, you could have stayed home and done nothing, I dont know why you chose Rock but the fact you did, words can't express how grateful I am.

So, the night is over, I'm truly gutted for that too but i can look back with great fondness and that is all because you.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do next, I may call it a day. I may do a few guest things, I may try and find another venue. I'll make sure I let you know whatever I decide. Keep in contact thought won't you?

Thanks again people, much love

Paul

! THE BIG SMOKE - RIP
Just a reminder that Rock now operates a non-smoking policy. It might not seem very rock 'n' roll but at least now you can spend a night drinking and dancing, then come home without the smell of the bog in your clothes and hair. Bonus!

For those who wish to take in the occasional drag of nicotine, you will be able take a break outside the venue.

! DEVIL'S ISLAND....

Friday 9th March - HERE BE PIRATES...

Ahoy!

Didn't realise there were so many pirates out there...

So, Friday 9th March was unofficial pirate night. Hoards of buccaneers, sea dogs and scalliwags hauled the proverbial anchor and sailed out to swash-buckle, splice the mainbrace, glug the grog and walk the plank.

We were bowled overboard by the dazzling array of piratical finery you all displayed. A grand effort was made by all!

Thanks too to the saucy sirens Renegade Burlesque who added a bit of spice to the main deck!

A hearty night was had by all. Watch this space for more piratical shenanigans in the near future...

! PRICES PRICES

I'm sorry to say that we finally need to put our prices up. Considering there's been no increase in three years - and that means EVER! - we don't think it's a bad deal. Anyway we're only talking about a single pound so we hope it won't hurt that much.

The good news is that both the Rock membership price and the advance price remain unchanged: Rock members will get in for £4 before midnight, £5 after and advance tickets are still £5 each. Advance tickets are available from the Astoria box office with no booking fee if you pay by cash.
